Dual Booting

Postby Joe_90 » Sat Mar 20, 2004 2:51 pm

Hi,

I want to set up my PC temporarily so that I can dual boot off two hard disks, one with W2k on the other with NT Server 4. Is this possible ?

If you install the other OS while both HD's are installed: Beware when dual-booting with Win2000 and WinNT, because Windows 2000 will update the NTFS partition. In order for Windows NT to be able to read the updated partition, it must have Service Pack 4 or higher installed. Be sure to apply SP4 or above to NT4 if you plan on adding Windows 2000 to the system.
Otherwise, remove one drive while installing the other OS. Then put them back in as Master/Slave. Set the Bios up to boot from the one you want.
