Reinstalling xp on new HDD

I got a new HDD and want to install XP on it and reinstall all my old software but on a different drive. So I install xp and after installation replace the wpa.dll on the new drive from my old one. Now I got to make the new drive my master and the old a slave (like myself to windows ).

Now I have to change the drive letters and hope it all works. Than the task of reloading all the old programs. when I reload office xp will get a problem with reactivation?

I have some of this figured out but could use a little (I mean A LOT) help to make sure I don't @#$* it all up

easiest way to do this is to use norton ghost. You as long as your "new" hard drive is as big or bigger than your old one you'll be golden.

The problem is i want just MS programs on the master disk and all other software on the slave. I know this sounds crazy . but its either that or partition the master in to two drives which means reloading everything again anyway

I'm not too sure what you're asking - are you just concerned about office XP? I don't know of a way to reactivate it using a similar method to that you used for XP I'm afraid. But as long as it's legit, MS are fairly easy about reactivating it so it's not too much hassle

By the time I read your reply I had worked it out myself. But thanks anyway
