I have one of these as an icon on my desktop with this reference WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU

What is it and can I get rid of it?

This is the MSBlast/W32 LovScan Worm critical patch so if you have not applied this fix then you should so immediately.

I opened up the icon and followed the install update instructions.

Presumably that is all I do?

Shall I remove the icon from my desktop?
