Lost files - not deleted!

I recently had to rebuild my PC and since the new m/b employed SATA, I bought a new drive at the same time. I kept the old drive to recover files from by putting it into an external USB case. The old drive is 160GB with about 110GB of data.

Recently I went looking a one of the larger folders of data and it's not where I remember it to be! As I run more than one company and have a couple of different people that use this computer, I had different login IDs plus some folders were probably either hidden or private.

I have logged in as administrator and changed permissions and ownership everywhere I thought these files might reside but no sign of them.

I even used Undelete Plus to scan the drive and it did not find any of the files I'm looking for. I'm stumped!

I've tried that. It only looks for deleted files, no options for anything else. I believe now the folder I'm looking for was set as private and can't be seen. Any ideas on overcoming that?
