Mucked up my Outlook Express

Hi to all. I was trying to get rid of Windows messenger from the tool bar. I went into Run.gpedit.msc. OK. then Local Computer Policy. Computer Configuration. Windows settings and then enabled "disconnect Window MSN Messenger"
Well this is what I was told to do, but I think I did it wrong, because now, when I open Outlook Express the blue window comes up right away and I have to wait fro 30 seconds before the program opens up! (It was fine before I mucked about with gpedit.
So I went back into Run, gpedit.msc. OK. but now a window comes up "Failed to open the Group policy Object on this computer. You may not have appropriate rights.
I will be more than happy if you can straiten this out for me.
I will not go into Run gpedit.msc again after this !
Cheerio

When you disable Windows Messenger that way the Outlook Express error is a known problem.
Restore the computer to a time right before you did that.
Then visit this site for a little better fix: .
