Hi Guys,

I am having some issues with my PC, I was having some problems with XP, locking up so I had to hard reset my computer so I decided it was about time to invest in Vista or 7.

Chose 7, did a fresh install and reformatted my hard drive, the install seemed to work OK and got the the end without and problem then after asking me what updates I wanted to install whatever I select causes the PC to restart and then continually restart before it gets to the windows screen.

Any help or possible ideas greatly accepted.

Have you tried doing a full chkdsk scan in dos? seems like a corrupt install ot a bad sector on the hdd.

lot of reports of similar problems, none are very specific but it seems that windows update loads a beta video driver that causes some problems. A repair install was so far the only option ive seen and a manual update after, not allowing the drivers from the windows update site to download. Instead u need to check your motherboards manufacture site for latest drivers.

Hi Matt

Put the Windows 7 cd in the cdrom and boot to it and try a repair. It should fix it without asking any questions.

I am not sure how to actually do a chkdisk from DOS and it is a formatted hard drive, only bought the hard drive a few months ago.

As far as repairing from the Windows 7 disk goes I have not tried this yet but I will try this tonight.

Also will try loading in safe mode and downloading my graphics card drivers as this seems to be a common issue which people have mentioned.
