Wireless network is bust!Do i need to bridge connections?

Postby Sasha » Wed May 05, 2004 8:27 am

Ok, my wireless network is still buggered.(Im on my downstairs pc).Do i need to bridge connections?I have tried to get the config right but it still doesnt seem to work!I detect the wireless network(linksys)and is receiving bytes but wont let me open up a web page etc.It is a new connection(set up yesterday)and that wireless network it running on two pc's(my pc and bro's)but how do i get it to "bridge connections"it says the ip address is invalid on the bridge connections properties!I have not configured it "obtain ip address automatically"but it still int working. When i do "run " then type cmd. then i type "ipconfig"It shows only two address
Autoconfiguration ... (then the ip address)
Subnet mask .... 255.255.255.000
!What needs to be done so i can get on the net!

Could you explain your exact setup?
Are you using a Router?
Broadband or Dial-up?
Operating Systems of each?

Ok...Does the Main Computer that's wired directly to the Router, with the Cat 5 network cable or USB, access the Internet alright?

So, your Main Computer is connected to the Router with a cable?
It (Main Computer) is connecting to the Internet?

Take it easy...You need to give us accurate details...........
If they're sending mail then access it on the Computer that's connected.
The other Computer's Lan settings (TCP/IP) should be set to "Obtain an IP address automatically".
Then reboot and if it still doesn't connect go to Start / Run / Type: cmd Click "Ok" / Type ipconfig /release Press "Enter". Now Type ipconfig /renew Press "Enter".
Now try IE on that Computer.
