system error 5

Postby PearlJamaholic » Fri Jul 20, 2012 9:49 pm

i recently got a new pc and when i switched over i transferred my settings from my old pc that ran xp. anyways it was causing issues saying i didnt have admin rights and such, even though i only had one user login. so i went into the security tab under properties and started deleting profiles. turns out i deleted the wrong one(s) and at first couldnt even login. got things sorta working through safe mode but now everything on my pc has a little lock on the icon and i cant access anything. i can login and see that everything is still there.

im seeing what i can find googling but its a slow trial and error so maybe someone here knows exactly how to fix what i did. i tried net user administrator \active:yes but got system error 5 access denied.

so how do i restore complete control to my administrator. the owner listed isnt the same as the user profile but it wont let me change that, maybe that would fix everything??
