My computer has dropped the number of colours it displays. On the appearance control panel, it lists 24 or 32-bit (not all the lesser ones that it used to as well). When I select either 24 or 32 bit, the colours are not 24/32 bit, it is more like 256 with dithering. I am getting no where near the full number of colours. Subsequently all pics/dvd looks terrible. All I have changed recently is to add another 256 of DDR2100 RAM

System: AMD Athlon 1800+
512 DDR 2100
Proview 14in LCD (plug and play driver- always worked fine beftore)
RIVA TNT64 Video Card

How do I get my colours back? PLease help!!

I think I'd start with reinstalling the drivers for the Display Adaptor.

Brad,

Have tried reinstalling all drivers, no joy. Is it worth removing new RAM, or swapping Video Cards?

I don't think it's your Ram. You could try removing the video card from Device Manager and reboot so it re-detects the card and reinstals the drivers. You could try your card in another machine, also.
