My system crashes when I connect my digi camera

hello all,
I am using xp pro on an amd athlon 750 ,usually runs without problems.
When I connect my digital camera and attempt to load the images
I get so far then the system crashes, a blue screen telling me it is dumping memory to disc and I am to check for a mismatch of memory
and update video drivers.
I don't know how to check for a memory mismatch.
I have changed the smart card in my camera incase the problem was the card but it happens with both 8mb and 32mb smart cards.
any help appreciated.

did u get any software with the camera? if so is it installed properly?

Also, how does the camera connect to your comp? And have you applied all the windowsupdate patches to windows?

the camera has been installed for over a year with it's fuji software.
I read in a computer mag that xp handles images itself,so I uninstalled the fuji software but the problem still occurs.
The camera is connected by a usb cable ,I leave it plugged in and just hook up the camera when I want to.

Try the suggestions.
Just a note from my experiences, you do not need your camera's program to sync. your camera on WinXp.
As a matter of fact, I like using the Xp defaults better than my camera's software.

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the help,I have just tried my new camera on the computer and it works without a problem!
The old camera was a fuji finepix 1.3 the new one is a fuji finepix 602
maybe there was a problem with the old camera?
The 32mb card from the old one was put in the new camera and as I say no problems.
Sorry it has taken so long for me to reply,I work nights and have to battle with my daughter to get time on the computer.
I will keep you posted.
