Login currently taking ages following networking attempt..

Hrm possibly I tried to map the drives....? Where would the protocol changing bit be? Sorry about this as I'm fairly newly returned to the world of PCs.... I do know that whilst the 'network' was plugged in, when the Apple Mac got turned on it would take a bit of extra time loading up, saying 'searching for network connections' or something like that. Could it be that (without stating), as Windows XP attempts to load my personal settings as I login it is infact searching for network connections, and this is whats taking so long?

One more thing. On XP go to back to the network connections (See instructions in my last post) and go to setup connection wizard. Run through the setup and select 'My PC connects directly to the internet'. Let it reset your connection - then reboot and see if you notice an inprovement.
