Reinstalling win xp without losing updates

Is it possible to somehow backup your windows updates so i can reinstall the entire os?Im stuck with a dial up connection so i would really hate to have to re-download all the critical and security updates.To clarify,i need to reformat my drive,not just reinstall xp.I am wanting to do a clean install,because i didnt do it the first time.I installed on top of 98 on a fat 32 but now regret doing it that way.

As far as I know, if you didn't save it when you downloaded it, you can't.
What I would do is find someone with a broadband connection and go to: and download them. Then they could burn them to a CD for you.
Just for future reference, when you go to download updates, when you get to the point where you review the updates, each has
a "Read More" link which will pop up a javascript page where you can
download the patch individually and store in your location of choice.
You could also choose "Manual Update" option from the update site. You just download them and execute them at your liesure.
