How to boot from CD ROM??

Postby Fairfaxspares » Fri Oct 15, 2004 12:41 am

Good evening all,
Kinda' screwed up my other PC and looking for some help, When booting up, what key stroke do you use to get the PC to boot from the CD ROM instead of the Hard drive??

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Jerre

Hi Fairfaxspares ... welcome to PCTechForums!!
Your MOBO might be equiped with a keystroke at boot up to change the Boot Device but you'll have to read the Manual and see what it says.
In the mean time to get the PC to boot from the CD-Rom...
You'll need to reboot the PC and Enter the BIOS
Set the First Boot Device to CD-Rom.
Put the CD in the drive and reboot.
Once the installation is complete go back into BIOS and Reset First Boot Device to HARD DISK

Hope this helps you!
