Something I learned this weekend

Postby skeletor » Tue Oct 12, 2004 4:16 pm

In all of my 6 years of computer experience I never knew that a bad optical mouse could cause a computer not to work right. Everytime we would boot this pc up to xp the mouse would be getting choppy and lock the pc up. You would have to reboot several times so we decided to reload windows but once it got to the desktop it did the same thing. Then we noticed after the bios screen where u can press f1 for setup the keyboard would become unresponsive. Well we gave up for a bit and tried another pc using all the same keyboard, mouse, monitor. Well that pc was doing the same thing so it occured to me that it could be the mouse. Well we tried another mouse and everything worked great. The funny part is that the mouse worked but whatever happened to it caused the pc to lockup. So lesson learned....:) Just wanted to share this with everyone.
