Printer port is set to port

Postby gooner1 » Tue Oct 05, 2004 5:59 pm

Hi. Can anyone help mw with a prob.

Today my Printer has stopped working. When i go into Printer and faxes...There's nothing there.

I tried to re-install my software. And it stops and says.....Printer port is set to port. To use the printer on a network change the printer port as neccesary.

But i cant change anything as there is nothing to change. Also today my Automatic update has stopped working too. May be connected. I updated to service pack 2 a while back.

Any clues.....

Mark..

Did you start using the Firewall built into SP2?

Have you tried to add the printer again instead of just trying to install the software?

Open Printers and Faxes Double-click Add Printer to start the Add Printer Wizard, and then click Next. Click Local Printer, make sure the Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer check box is selected, and then click Next.
