Explorer shut down msg / Outlook 2003 problems

Postby Nessiah » Mon Sep 20, 2004 3:45 pm

Hey,

I do some computer tech work for this guy, and he pays me pretty well, but he has so many ridiculous questions, its driving me insane. He has a dell dimension 8300 or 8400 computer with a P4 3.0, 512 memory and running Windows XP SP1 (not sure if he installed SP2 on his own or not) with Microsoft Office Baisc edition 2003. There are 2 things that I cannot figure out how to fix.

1. Everytime he shuts down, windows has some error msg about needing to close down explorer or something like that first. I've never seen it before, he just describes it to me over the phone. sorry for the lame detail. How can I get this to stop happenning?

2. Also, While receiving e-mail in Outlook 2003, sometimes the e-mail content is not displayed...just a blank e-mail, but the senders assure him they are not sending blank e-mails. I checked to see if its one of those annoying things where it sends as an attachment, but it is not. He is running Norton Internet Security, so that may play a part. How do I get these e-mails to be viewable?

He's had this computer for less than a month, and has generated more problems then I have ever seen, lol.

Thanks,
Nessiah

This seems to be an interesting link for the Outlook problem :)
