Getting files into one folder

Postby lilpinkflower » Sat Sep 18, 2004 7:54 pm

I've got a whole bunch of files...masses of them... that i want to store in one folder. I'm sure there must be an easy way to get them all in there without dragging them into the folder one by one..... ??

Plz say there is.... hehehe

Might as well squeeze in one last post before I go!
Haven't a clue whether it's different on XP, but if you highlight all the files, then click and drag, they move as a block, thus saving the one by one technique!

you could also, highlight them all (by draggin over) and right click and ether copy or cut, then go into the new folder and paste them in there (again bi pressing right mouse button, then paste)

Ctrl & A = select all files in directory
Ctrl & C = copy
Ctrl & X = cut
Ctrl & V = paste

Microsoft has for all the keyboard shortcuts in windows XP.

I don't know if this helps any but as I see you were not happy doing one at a time...

Hold the Ctrl button while selecting each file you want moved and then drag into folder. This way you can select the ones you want to go where, then move.

Hold the Shift button and any file below or above that first highlighted file in the GUI will be highlighted if you select another one with the mouse pointer.
