Windows cannot access........

Postby CaJazzman » Wed Sep 01, 2004 8:06 pm

When I boot up my pc, and wait for everything to boot up, I get the message: "Windows cannot access the specific, device, path,or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item". I can access if I have in the msconfig, the file nwiz.exe, disabled, and leave it in the selected mode, but I want to be able to go back into the normal mode. Can this be fixed, and if so, how. Thx. :?:

Nwiz.exe is Related to nVidia graphic cards drivers.
Long name - NVIDIA nView Wizard.

Nwiz.exe is an Application that allows a users to have 32 virtual desktops, get a desktop larger than the viewable area of the monitor, divide the display across more than one monitor and manage applications.

If you are not using any of these features, you can Disable it at start-up with no effects on the Graphic card.

if you want to be able to leave your pc in normal mode in msconfig, simply put the nwiz back, and use HiJackThis to remove it permanantly. You could also manually edit the registry to remove nwiz at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
