Help Needed here please!!

Postby Torquay-Pete » Mon May 30, 2005 8:04 pm

Hi Guys I need your help again!!
I keep getting a virus alert from AVG Which points to a backdoor Trojan in System32, this goes by the name of SndMon16.exe. I heal this every time with AVG but it comes back at least twice a day.!! I have scanned with adAware and Spybot is running all the time also Trojan Guarder is finding nothing??. Can any one help me please this seems to disable my sound device every so often. I am pretty P**sed of with this now.
Thanks in advance as always Pete (Sunny Devon) UK

Try these Trojan scanners (free)

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/

or

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ (needs xp)

Update them before you scan, maybe needs a few updates..!

After you've tried another or more trojan scans you should run Hijackthis and post your log in the Hijackthis forum for a moderator to take a look at.

What was the name of the trojan?

I think the Trojan scanners are the way to go. Try . It is a 30 eval version but it cleans everything I have ever seen. Make sure you update it first.
