Service is running that I think is bogus

Postby jemmo » Sun Sep 16, 2007 8:22 pm

In Control Panel / Admin Tools / Services the first entry I have is;

##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##

The description of the service is;
##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##

The Startup Type is Automatic and it is currently running.

I think this is bogus and should be stopped. Am I right?

jemmo,

That is the Bonjour service of Photoshop CS3.
Adobe uses Apple's Bonjour technology to enable the connectivity to Version Cue servers on a local area network. Bonjour is widely used throughout Mac OS X and Windows in applications like iTunes and popular printers to allow users to set up a network service without any configuration.
