hi everyone!..............my bitdefender v10 says Adware.Bho.Al slipped in but was stopped......not disinfecteced,but moved,and "my system is not infected"...i still keep getting popup alerts telling me how 'well' bitdefender worked...Now my partner/service man is working on a tower that bitdefender disinfected 84 of 106 of another trojan(a download virus of some sort)..he says he has a better av product that can clean up what others leave behind.!..................my questiion: Is there such a product?...If there is I would like to know! ...........it seems i've got a little repair shop of my own now...i keep stubbing my toes on my friends' pc's in my office. ......can someone please help me out here?

All anti virus programs have a better chance of finding and removing an infection if run in safe mode.
Also there is a big difference between an Anti virus program and an Anti spyware/malware program.
Now days you need both types of programs that offer real time protection just to surf worry free.
Most anti virus programs will detect and remove a true virus, it is what they are designed to do.
But they all have trouble detecting and removing spyware/malware or Trojans.
I recommend as one of the best anti spyware/malware programs out there.
As with any program you have to keep it updated, use it properly and regularly for it to do it's job.
As you know I use HijackThis as a detection tool to show what is running and what the registry is loading.
In the spyware removal community HijackThis is what is always used as the first detection tool.
But it takes some time and knowledge to be able to interpret a HijackThis log and know what is good and what is bad.
It is also just as important to know the proper sequence to remove some of the worse infections.
So in conclusion there is no one program that can to it all and with a number of bad infections you need specialized tools to successfully remove that infection.

you know,not for nuthin'...i started out with avg last year,but put it on the back burner as i tried others...anyway,i have spyware doctor,xoftspy pro,which i ran,as well as avast av.after bitdefender and all showed nada!...you're saying run one in safe mode? if so how can that work now that bitdefender has isolated the trojan?i bought spyware doctor because it is "a trojan remover"...anyway i'm sending along my hijackthis log...if you got time to look it over i'd appreciate it....Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

well,Mr.Gecko.....you've done it again!......that file was succesfully removed and there are NO effects on any of my other programs!...thankyou for taking the time to review my log...........arty
