What Sys info to give....

Postby Junior_co » Thu Dec 09, 2004 2:19 am

I was just thinking as I posted a question in another area...

When posting questions on the forums here, it is helpful to provide information about ones system for trouble-shooting purposes....

In general, what information should one give about their system, and more importantly what sys. info should not be given??

Thanks

Great question,

It ALWAYS helps to give system specs even though you may think we wont need it.It saves us the step of asking for it when we do need it.Here's a good spec list..

Windows Xp Pro
AMD Athlon XP 2000+
ECS K7S5A rev. 3.1 mobo
512 ddr pc2100
Nvidia GeForce 4 MX 400 128 mb
Cmedia AC97 sound
Ibm Deskstar 120 gig HDD
Iomega DVR-RW
Lite-On DVR Rom

If users dont know all of there specs,no big deal.Post as much as you can.

Things we will never need is an IP address, any type of username, passwords, things of personal nature.
