dsCachecleaner.exe error when log in 2003 Server

Postby ecpowell » Wed Jul 30, 2008 3:55 pm

Every time administrator logs in to Windows 2003 server an error appears saying that dsCachecleaner has envountered an error and needs to terminate. I have run scans using TrendMicro products, and found a couple of problems which we cleared up, but the problem persists. Below is my HJT log. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: dsCachecleaner.exe error when log in 2003 Server

Postby Gecko » Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:23 pm

Hello ecpowell, and welcome to our forum.

From what I can see you have at least two trojans on this system plus a rouge winsock file.

Please download and save it to your desktop.
Do not run WinsockFix yet you may need it later!

Please download to your desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.

Do not exit Combofix while it is running you my loose all your personal settings!
Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running, that may cause it to stall.

When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

After the reboot you my loose your internet access
If you do, then run the WinsockFix.exe. file you saved to your desktop.

Launch WinsockFix.exe making sure that you click the "Reg Backup" button first.
Now click the "Fix" button and follow the onscreen instruction ending with rebooting your system.
