Hi, I have a second hand computer full of bad things, the first time i managed to run AVG it found 21 viruses (Trojan). I am having many different problems but i thought i would start by hopefully clearing all viruses etc first. I have run SpyBot and then a full system scan on Ad-Aware but the Ad-Aware scan seemed to finish very quickly this time and only 4 objectes were found. Here is my log, please have a look and thanks in advance for your help. Ursh

Please copy this to Notepad and print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open windows when you are following the procedures below.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following:
(They may or may not be there)
vemffa.exe
WinStat
nefnc
istsvc
farmmext

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

Uninstall the following via the Add/Remove Panel (Start->(Settings)->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs) if they exist:
WinStat

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Remember to reset these when done.
Delete the following Files/Folders if they exist:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\vemffa.exe
C:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus
C:\WINDOWS\nefnc.exe
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\istsvc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\farmmext.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders, Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin", reboot and post a new HiJackThis log.

I went to End Task but none of the listed items were there, i turned off system restore, ran HiJackThis and fixed the selected items. Winstat was not present. I followed the next step and when i came to C:WINDOWS\farmmext.exe it was there to delete but there is also FARMMEXT.EXE.2C37E577.pf am i ment to delete that too? With deleting the temporary internet files in C:Documents & Settings\Local Service\Local Settings it would not let me delete the temp internet file, the message "Cannot delete index.dat: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again." was displayed. Under C:Documents & settings\Owner\Local Settings\temporary internet files, it would not let me delete all objects. I then deleted recycling bin and restarted the computer I then ran HiJackThis again and here is the log

Thanks heaps for your help, would you also be able to tell me why i cannot do a disk clean up, or do i need to start a new post. The error, Disk Space Cleanup Manager for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconverience, appears when i try to open it. I send an error report but no solution is ever shown.
