Need Help: Someone please review my hijackthis log

Postby thug » Tue Aug 24, 2004 6:19 am

Popups have been bugging the .... out of me lately. I've run Adaware and Spybot and still I'm getting popups. I'm a first time HiJackThis user and after running it I'm seeing a few very suspect objects. Someone please review my recent log and tell me what to remove. Thanks.

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

yzcupr.exe
tiviuyhl.exe
PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ielvxsli] C:\WINDOWS\yzcupr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kdkfbf] C:\WINDOWS\tiviuyhl.exe
O4 - Startup: PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe
O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} (cpbrkpie Control) - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/4019/ ... brkpie.cab

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if they are there:

PowerReg SchedulerV2

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" and rename them, in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\yzcupr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\tiviuyhl.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\PowerReg SchedulerV2
C:\Program Files\PowerReg SchedulerV2

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.
