Re: another person with a sysprotect problem

It is this sites policy to not offer tech support through pm’s only if administration deems it necessary.
The reasoning behind this policy is so anyone else with a similar problem can use the thread as a guide.
As you your self have done by reading through the forums.

With that said:
Please download HijackThis, unzip it to it's own folder.
Start HijackThis and select 'Do a system scan and save a logfile'
Now post the contents of the logfile back into a new thread in the Hijack this support forum.
I will be quite willing to help you resolve you infestation

Please copy this to Notepad and print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
You should not have any open windows when you are following the procedures below.

Turn off system restore by right clicking on My Computer and go to Properties->System Restore and check the box for Turn off System Restore. Click Apply and then OK. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: mllmk - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mllmk.dll (file missing)

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Remember to reset these when done.
Delete the following Files/Folders if they exist:

kmllm.dll
kmllm.dll.bak1
kmllm.dll.bak2
kmllm.dll.ini
kmllm.dll.ini2
kmllm.dll.tmp
kmllm.dll.tmp1
kmllm.dll.tmp2

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders, Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your Recycle Bin, reboot and post a new HiJackThis log.

You log looks clean, :)

However there a couple of things I will bring up,
The bellow entries do track your internet usage, some experts therefore consider them spyware, HJT removal is optional:
O8 - Extra context menu item: AltaVista Search - file://C:\Program Files\ALTAVISTA Toolbar\Cache\SelectedContextSearch.htm
O8 - Extra context menu item: Translate - file://C:\Program Files\ALTAVISTA Toolbar\Cache\SelectedContextTranslation.htm

I’m assuming that you have added the bellow entry to your trusted zone:
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.af.mil

I only mention this because of the * wild card reference just be careful of any possable phising sites.

So how is it running now?
