As far as I understand it a data miner cookie is a cookie that gathers data from you and it could be from anywhere... not a specific one source but a term that is used.

Here is a link that explains it better than me ! :)

I get data miner cookies on my Ad-aware all the time... I just remove them and scan often... they are only a minor problem.

A moderator will check your HJT log for you.

As Lilpinkflower said, Dataminer cookies come from visiting sites. You have no control over whether or not a site will issue a cookie.

This is the results of your log file:

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {00A6FAF6-072E-44cf-8957-5838F569A31D} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\1.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\SrchAstt\1.bin\MWSSRCAS.DLL

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.
(\__/) This is Bunny.
(='.'=) Copy and paste bunny into your sig.
(")_(") Help Bunny gain World Domination.
