Can't open attachments from Outlook Express

I upgraded from Win 2000 finally to XP now for some reason I cannot open attachments directly in outlook express. I have to actually save them to hard drive to open them. It's a pain. Same thing with Winzip. I used to be able to open the zipped file directly from within winzip instead of unzipping to hard drive THEN opening file.

This is error message I get.
c:\documents and settings\Mary\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.ie5\aw060704336e01c.ai is not a valid win32 application

I already tried sfc /scannow

Anyone have a clue what is going on?

In the Tools menu, select Options, and then in the Options dialog, select the Security tab. In that dialog will be a checkbox labeled "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus". It is checked by default. Uncheck it to regain access to your attachments.

I think it is nice description of the features incorporated into the outlook express.

Hi, I'm not sure if you're still having the same problems but this seems like a good place to start for all computer concerns. http://www.homeitservice.net/
