trouble with my computer getting on the internet???????????

My computer had a bunch of spywear on it and I got rid of it.................

Now when I try to get on the internet i get (this page cannot be displayed).............I called Centurytel and asked them what it was...... and they told me I needed a (Win sock fix) and I would have to call HP to get them to walk me through it.........so I called them and they said since my computer was not under warranty anymore I would have to bring it to a computer repair shop and let them fix it.............but if anyone else on here knows what i can do without havin to bring it to a shop i would like to know....

We can probably use to get your internet back (if centurytel is right) but i need to see another log before i can help you out with it.

I very much doubt that some spyware would damage a win sock.
Sounds like, when u were deleting ya spyware some settings have been changed.

Gives us more info on how u get online. A check all ya internet and network settings....

Thankyou for trouble shooting this Shindig---but I think from looking at the date of the post he's either fixed the problem or set a field goal record on the drop kick distance for a HP system

Keep up the good work, we need people who want to troubleshoot.
