Win SE won't shut machine off-only blinking underscore line

Hi,

What causes Win SE to not shut my machine off? Only a blinking underscore line appears after I go to 'shut down' and I have to power down eash time.

This is a known issue at Microsoft and they have a fix for it.
You can read all about it and download the fix from here :D

If that doesn't fix it, try turning off fast shutdowns. You can do this by running 'msconfig'. There should be an 'advanced' button somewhere where you can chack a box to disable fast shutdowns. This can solve these issues :)
