go back and windows me

Can anyone tell me why my windows me os and go back will not get along with
each other? Before I purchased the system, everyone told me that go back and
me were compatable, but everytime I install it my pc goes into scan disc
when rebooted. Sometime it won't even reboot. Any help would be appreated. I
have my system restore disabled. I am using go back v 3.2 and my windows updates are current. I have run a complete virus scan and all is ok.
Maybe I am not setting something right. I really like go back much better than system restore on windows, but I am finding it very frustrating to use. some folks say they have it and it works fine. why me?

I'd uninstall it and reboot. Now reinstall it only this time, in addition to disabling Restore, disable your Anti-Virus software, too.

Do you have the option of excluding folders from you virus scan?
What Anti-Virus do you have?

Sorry I should have mentioned in my last post, I don't understand what you mean, by (option of excluding folders from you virus scan). Never done that.

I don't use Norton but someone else here might be able to elaborate.
Most AV's allow you to exclude folders from their live scanning. Almost all of them automatically put the "Restore" folders there. Sometimes AV scans interfere with certain programs. That's why I suggested putting GoBack in the excludes folder.
Did you have a Firewall running during installation?

You might be able to stop the auto scandisc by: Start / Run / Type msconfig / "Advanced" button. There is an option to disable scan disk on bad shutdown.

No I do not have a firewall. and I will look into norton and see what I can find on the subject of which you are talking. Thank-You and will let you know what I find......

I found something in Norton called exclusions, I wanted you to see what I had, so I tried to paste the window here, but it will not let me do it.
It lists items to exclude: they are *.dbx and *.nch, and \_restore.
Now how do I get go back in there? If this is what you want me to do. Thanks.
