Thanx for those links GeekGirl, everything seems to be running ok without UPnP, and I always have the option to check it back if I need it for something!!

Does anyone know anything bout .inf files? Only the file that was causing the problem with my add/remove program is a LAYOUT2.INF and I'm unsure as to how important it is! It's sat in a seperate file at the moment, and nothing seems amiss without it. Do I need to replace it or can I do without it?!

Any info would be appreciated!!!!

Thanx

Sorry for the delay...... GG's got the right idea. UPnP opens your computer to a whole world of vulnerabilities. These two links explain better than me...... and they even make sense... :al2:

Yes, I'd disable UPnP unless you want others to have the ability to control your Computer. Read the Links...........
