windows me question

I have heard that windows me os is very unstable. Would like some reviews from your techs as to this remark. Badpolarbear has been helping me fix some problems with it...how do you feel about it.

I know the same person RB talks about but he is one of the few (including me) that has had much success with WinMe.

I have used ME numerous times, and I have had no problems. Maybe I am one of two.

But answering your question about an OS is subjective. If you have room in the budget and have the hardware to do so, I say go with XP. You will not regret it.

ME seems ok when it has plenty of ram to back it up.Personally if i couldnt have XP,i would go back to 2000 or 98.Agreeing with PCguy,go with XP if you can.

I personally dont' think i'd ever want to use any operating system before windows 2000. Win 3.1, Win95, 98, ME were all based on DOS as their operating system. Because of DOS limitatoins, none of the above did a steller job when it came to multi-tasking or PLUG/PLAY devices.

Windows NT, 2000, and XP baisically use a new KERNEL (replacing dos). This new kernel is designed to provide multi-tasking and to work with PLUG/PLAY hardware. Windows NT, while a good/stable operating system had some bugs that needed ironed out... it was just difficult to work with.

Win2k and XP are steller OS'es and recieve my vote.
