disc space question

Postby teenage_lightning » Sun Feb 13, 2005 11:56 pm

Hello, something weird seems to be happening...

I've been deleting a load of unwanted files (mainly photos and word documents) to reclaim some much needed space on my tiny hard drive.

However, I noticed that the remaining disc space seems to be decreasing rather than increasing every time I delete something...

for example, there was about 300Mb of disc space left; I then deleted an entire folder of unwanted files, emptied the recycle bin, and checked the disc space again - there was about 250Mb left!

Deleting these files seems to have added to my C drive...???

Am I missing something blindingly obvious here?

Any suggestions gratefully recieved! Cheers,
xxx

Reboot the machine and check it again, just a thought.

Are you running Nortons system tools? It has a recycle bin recovery option that saves deleted files--you would need to turn that off
