Windows 7 without IE??

Is there something I'm missing??

You may have seen in the news that the EU have forced M$ to remove IE from windows 7 due to anti competitive blah blah.

But, if you don't have IE in the first place, how are you meant to download opera/safari/firefox/etc.??!

Ok, so you could go to another pc, download it, save to usb stick/burn to CD, then slap it on the PC... but if you weren't "savvy" enough to get a browser besides IE in the first place I doubt you'd have a clue to do all that.

Say a bunch of friends with little computer experience all get new PCs with W7...
They won't HAVE another computer to get a browser from.

From what I read, OEMs will be given CDs with IE on anyway, so the theoretical friends above may have IE on their pc already anyway, which puts most people back at square one.

This all makes little sense to me, so I assume I'm missing some info.

Also, don't macs come with bundled software? Why aren't they getting slapped up?

We cant imagine a system without incorporation of IE previously, your point of worry is valid, as without preset browser on system we cannot download any of them. There should be a inbuilt browser to make the other downloading easy without facing any problem, not many of us will find another PC to copy in usb or cd.

no problem at all, if you don't have a browser installed in your OS you can try to browse using notepad then you can download the browser you want as long as their is internet connection.
