As you can see I have to have my house hold fan to cool my whole case down! it makes such immense heat! Any ideas what i can do to cool it :D?

Here is a link to a screen shot I have taken of Call of duty 5 world at war on 1920x1080 res with all settings maxed!

Very nice :D

i doubt you will get it much cooler than it is in that small case. Maybe get a new heatsink (water cooled??).

Did you move to vista? Vantage doesnt run on XP that i know of? I wish you had a 3d06 score, then i could tell how bad your beating me!! Cooling is going to be tough with it being dual. I had to upgrade my card cooler but its single gpu. Aftermarket coolers do make a big difference if you can find one for that card, surely someone makes them by now.

damn i wish i had a way to compare that.

LIL JIM! :D long time no speak dood! hope your really well??

Yep unfortunately i went to Vista big mistake as it takes up more resources etc!! lol

With the cooling issue i sent it back to overclockers to test because i think its way too hotter then should be!

it even crashed my comp at one point - this was before i opened my PC case and put a house hold fan beside it! they are going to take a week or so to send it back after all that! ah well...

I rather know its working okay/not broken by any access heat rather then keep it and do more damage to it! Ill do some researching onto cooling for it but i am rather scared to take apart that beast as it cost me LOTS!!

I will try install 3d mark 06 on here when i get it back and see what score i get to compare lad?

Its been a while for sure, all is well on my end. I take it your doing pretty good over there seeing how your throwing big money around on Vista and a new card!

Axelation was runing vista for a while but the resources made him switch back. Clean install was sucking 512 megs of ram with nothing installed.

For cooling, i had some issues too but i finally got it under control. I would up installing a thermaltake dual orb on my card and i modded my case with a 120mm fan in the top pulling air out. I also turned off my side fan and closed up the whole so i have a vacuum pulling in from the front and out the top. Doing that dropped my video temp by 15-20 degrees. The simple concept that heat rises inspired my mod.

One of these days venney will get off his pile of cash and get him a new card. Of course he'll have to remove spongebob from his desktop before he can install a real card

Hah yea been ages! I wouldnt say i am throwing money around i been saving for a while now - currently working in better job then my previous job. I am working in I.T. now and mostly work along side my manager solving any problems that come up in the office on our I.T. support desk :).

I might just buy a new case as my current antec case is not very good for cooling! was thinking of getting this one as it has a lot more space and loads more cooling fans! Looks like you had a busy time keeping your gcard heat down then? the heat on this card was way too much ... I was getting 80c before I took side of my case off and got a house hold fan to cool it down! then it dropped it 70s! even that was extremely hot! so I am guessing a new case is needed if they find out during the test that nothing is wrong with the card.

Haha venney could get a new gcard easy - but he prob has other priorities hehe :D!

sponge bob for the win though!

i have a bit of savings to be honest, i want to buy a hd tv (a nice expensive one :D ) so im waiting for after that before i even think of getting a new gpu. i do think my system could benifit a lot from a new gpu, but ive been playing my ps3 more than pc. but liljim, you just wait ;)

Hey guys!! I got the new case and got a replacement graphics card back. My case is awesome! ill take some pics soon of it - I got 8 fans inside for cooling its very noisey but keeping everything cool!... still troubles with my graphics card! i am getting low FPS now on games my old gcard coped with fine?? Im confused as hell:|. I dont think i will go ATI again my own fault not sticking with nvidia :(!

Tried uninstalling/cleaning with driver cleaner and still the same... my 3d mark seems better then old gcard but i should be getting more FPS since i paid mega bucks for this card!

Anyone think of anything i can do to resolve this issue as im bit peeved off... :flame:

before you get too upset, heres some things to consider. Some games have a frame rate cap and only produce so much. Are you sure your not getting all the game has to offer? Added to that, framerates also depend on features. Your card may be seeing more textures or filters than your previous one which could make for a lower frame rate yet still have a better appearance. Alother thing is Vista, dont compare what your machine was doing with the nvidia/xp combo to the ATI/Vista combo. They wont match up at all. At best, you can put the nvidia card back in, run a game then switch back to the ati and run again all under the same environment. Thats the only way you will get a legit comparison. In short, run both cards in XP or both in Vista. Everything with vista will seem slower that it did in xp because of the resources and DX10.

well i used my 8800 GTS on vista i using same res/settings on the 4870x2 and its around the same FPS on both cards.. Also my HDMI Connector just stopped working :|. i think its another faulty card then sent me ? :(. im not happy at all... i just emailed website i ordered it from complaining as i seen on other forums that around same specs as me with the 4870x2 they getting much better FPS on the same game. Maybe 4870x2's have some sort of problem overall? :(
