A request for your opinion please

I decided to put this question here because it’s an opinion I’m looking for, not Tech Support.

My two girls have been bugging me to allow them to have Internet access on their computers in their rooms. My problem with this is the lack of supervision, so I went surfing to see what’s available. I was not too happy with the results it was pretty easy to get around anything I found. Mind you that my girls have been around computers all their lives and have learned a lot looking over my shoulder.

So I decided to see if I could program a browser that would only access parent-approved websites. I decided to do it in Visual Basic because that was the first compiled language that I learned and I know it best.
I was able to accomplish this by using an encrypted database that is decrypted when the browser is loaded and held in memory. It is searched each and every time a website is loaded, if the website is not in the database then you receive a pop-up that says that it is not an approved site.

I used a totally different program to administer the database; I used this same encrypted database to hold the login name and password for the administration of the database.

My wife believes that I should try and sell this Browser. That there would be a big demand for it and we would get rich.

I on the other hand feel that there is already enough like programs out there and that it would be a waste of time and money.

So my question at last is, do you think that this browser would be a marketable program?

Thank you in advance
