Phone to PC software

Postby ColaBoy » Sun May 27, 2007 7:49 pm

Got worried for a minute when I clicked on the bookmark for your old site and you were'nt there!! Anyway...

Ive tried a few programs for transferring stuff to and from my phone but they all freeze up just after they start. The driver I'm using for the cable I have isn't digitally signed by MS, could that be the problem?

The cable driver doesnt have to be signed

Are we talking about pc to cell phone?
If so, what kind of cell phone? Nokia, Sony, Motorola, ETC..

If Microsoft realized that the driver was unsigned, then the device is recognized by the system. It sounds like the program needs to be configured to run correctly. Run the program with the phone removed, keep the cable plugged in. Look for a configuration utility and see if you can set up an unused com port. It should be able to determine which ports are available for use. Select one, close out of the program and restart the program. Plug in the phone and hit the sync button. Hopefully that should get you going.

Thanks for the reply. Once again the mystery of the pc comes into play as after messing around installing and unistalling stuff its started working again.
No doubt any day now this will change and I'll be back here again! ;)

Im sorry, somehow i missed the response in this thread. If its not to late, i use the Sony Ericsson PC Suite but im using a bluetooth usb adapter instead of a usb cable. Its been flawless for me.

Heres a link to Sony's file manager software if you dont already have it
