Not sure how to clean reg?

Iwant to clean my registery, however last time i did this it caused some of my software to stop functioning properly!

what is the best way to clean it without problems?

Here is one I use called Ntregopt from Wininternals who have been bought out by Microsoft. It does all of the hives.

Hey I used a third party software to clean my registry. I used CleanMyPc registry cleaner and RegCure.. But my regcure is only a trial version.
