this means you do not have a default program or a program windows recognizes to open that file type. you will need to accosicate it with a program. in windows 2000 you would go to my ocmputer go to tools > folder options > File types (tab) > find the file extension and change/add what program it uses. This could be different on 95/98/Me ... im pritty sure that will fix your problem but i will have to let someone else tell you where the option is located on your version of windows.

You can't open the FOLDER or the picture doesn't display?

Go to http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm and download Irfanview. It's free. During the install it will ask you if you want to associate it with your pictures. Say yes and make sure you tick off jpg, jpeg and gif.

That should fix it. :)
