The old "can't access Admin account" problem with a twist

Win XP:

recently did a clean reinstall on XP a few days ago. It was working fine until yesterday when I went to restart, when it came back up, it went to the login screen which it never done before, it always loaded right into the account (default admin account, renamed to my name when I did the install, so I wouldn't forget, never put a password to it) when it went to the login screen, there was no account to click on, so I did the ctrl+alt+del twice input to get to where I could login with the default account. It decided to bully me by telling me that the login/domain/password was incorrect. didn't make a domain, nor did I have the bar to fill in for domain, didn't make a password for it, and I can't forget my own name yet. (maybe in 40 years, though)

I read the problem before about where you need a password recovery tool, but how would I go about fixing this, since I never has a password in the first place? And just incase, would a simple repair via disc fix this, or would it just leave it as is?

Have you tried bootinto safe mode to use the Administration account login?

Reboot in to Safe mode:
Restart Windows after you see the BIOS screen and before Windows starts to load.
Start tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
Use the Arrow key to ensure that the Safe Mode option is selected.
Press Enter. The computer then begins to start in Safe mode.

Yes, tried safe mode both as my name and as "administrator" both without passwords and as anything I may have put as a password incase I forgot about putting one in, but I highly doubt I did since I live alone now, but neither one of the logins worked, nor with any passwords

figured out the problem... isass.exe ... which was the reason I did the clean reinstall in the first place. So I'm going to go search google for a list of known reasons isass.exe gets funny with peoples computers then check if a simple repair via CD will fix that too

I ask this though, the only things I DLed where things on the PC for at least a year before the first isass problem (AVG, ccleaner & cpu-z)

So is there a worm online that messes with isass as well?

Did you install an anti virus/malware program first thing after the reinstall?
Did you update to Service Pack 3 and the 109 other updates for windows XP after the reinstall?
