hi the machine was originally xp home now upgraded to xp pro sp 3 ..after much time wasting and frustration I have re-formatted my Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop and installed Windows 2000 Professional as this has much quicker boot speed than windows XP pro ....but I cannot find a Display Driver for 2000 ..on the Dell site or any other site ..the machine defaults to 640 ,480 with 16 colours ,with no option to update driver on this OS . If anyone can give me a pointer to a HOWTO to changing and increasing display driver ( I need at least 800,600 preferably 1024 ,768 res for web browsing etc) . many thanks ..

Unless you want to try and downgrade the XP drivers by hand you are out of luck.
It been a long time since I have tried editing display driver files and that was for Linux.
