Question about avatars

Postby Dave_Lethal » Tue Jan 11, 2005 7:03 am

I didn't know where to post this but...

Can I upload a .gif avatar? The avatar I have now is supposed to move, but I changed it to a .jpg so it would just be a pic. I noticed no one has moving avatars, and if I post it, will the system ban me? Thanks.

I dont see why you couldnt use a .gif file. I dont have a restriction as far as I know. And animated avatars are no reason to be banned. As long as its not offensive. :)

BTW, I'm moving this to comments and suggestions.

Ah, the image has to be less than 6 KB, and my .gif is 14.

I don't know anything about .gif files, and I don't know what makes them move, so I didn't know if it had anything to do with javascript or what. Just out of curiosity....how come it's restricted to 6 kb?
