Hi, PC Guy,

first off, I like this forum - otherwise I wouldn't be here right.
one question : the last half year, i've been thrown out of this forum several times due to the fact the system did not recognise me anymore. I did not delete any cookies since, or other things. So what is happening here? I do not have this problem with other forums, so maybe you put a virus in your system to block off certain users after a time heh?

just kidding, but i would like to know what could be the cause of this strange behaviour - or is it something on your side?

with all due respect and thanks for the big help I got from this forum

Cookies expire. That's usually why you have to log in again.

yes Brad,
(i think you explained me that before) but I wanted to know how this comes on this forum, and not on others; so i believe you must have a setting or such in the forum software causing this. And is it not possible to change it? (i believe i can change the date of the cookie out here)
Right now it's just like going to an old friends house, and when he opens the door he tells ye "Man, I never saw you before !" right in your face !

Well, it does not matter how many times you'll throw me out, I will come back, even if you've got Altzheimer over there.

I'm still curious as to the why and how though...

Because the site has been victimized by hackers in the past, I have set the limit on the cookie to what it is. Its in all of our best interest. If you visit ever day you should get an expired cookie. :)

Ok PCGuy, roger that.

only something i still don't quite get :
If you visit ever day you should get an expired cookie.

Are you saying that if i come here once a month, it would take 30 x longer to expire?

regards,

You will have to excuse me. I didn't get much sleep which is typical. And I haven't had my coffee. What I meant to say is that if you visit this site every day, your cookie will not expire. Much better. :)
