New business directory site comming

Postby Gecko » Wed Jun 14, 2006 12:42 am

This is something that will be going live on July 1st, it is sub domained off our graphics site for now.
It’s php based but has been seriously hacked to get the results I wanted.
Everything is up and running but please don't join as the link in the email will be wrong until July 1.

The contact page is the only page not finished I don't know if it will be used our not.
There are only a few business listed so far enough to see how it will work.
We have a list of about 100 business that will be added before we go live.

So tell me what you think of the graphics and the overall look and feel

it looks decent :D. I think the border around the sides thats blue?maybe you should change that because i think a black shade would blend in better?

Did you created all the graphics etc? like the banner that looks cool .
I did notice something about it tho and sorry if this is fussy just trying to help and give opinions geck

well if your screensize is 800x600 the banner stretches too far? so it kinda makes the page look awkward to work with. Maybe it would be best to work at low res first like 800x600 because i think you made it on 1024x678 res? or higher maybe?

other then that it looks cool good luck with it all during july :D i love webdesign/graphics maybe if you want talk to me i can give points?

Sorry again if i sound big headed or anything :) love ya gecky :!:

Thank you robbro for your input;

Yes we did all the graphics on the site including the blue line and drop shadow on the blocks and most of the business banners.
The blue around the blocks was designed to help tie into the overall blue color scheme.

And yes it was designed for 1024 x 768, for years we have been designing for 800 x 600.
I thought it was time to go to the next level so if your not running 1024 x 768 then get a bigger monitor or get glasses. :P

If you really like graphics here is another site we are doing
its not complete yet we're waiting on the customers photos and text
